I Swear it's June

Reason #237 why I love California: I can wear flip flops in January. Truth be told, I'll wear flip flops if it's snowing, but it's much more enjoyable while the sun is shining. I'm such a Cali girl. I'm a sun loving, shorts wearing, pool frequenting, read a book under a tree at noon kinda gal. Lydia and I have been chillin' outside like it's June. And because Kyle had last Wednesday off, the lucky bloke got to join us for a monarch butterfly walk. I know, every man's dream.

We lazed the afternoon away at the Ardenwood Historic Farm, learning about the butterflies, picking flowers, and throwing around the frisbee. I joke about a male's ability to enjoy a day like this, but luckily my guy enjoys a new activity as much as I do.

The butterflies were swarming this forested area. It was absolutely breathtaking.

The telescope was trained on this leafy patch:
Just gorgeous.

After learning interesting facts about the life span, eating habits, and chrysalis making abilities of these pretty creatures, we spread out to explore the rest of the large farm.

Love this happy girl.

Daddy is a lot of fun to play with.

He does things like this...
Which kind of scares mommy, but delights the Lydie Girl.

Mommy prefers activities more along these lines:
There, aren't flowers more fun than flying, Lyd? No? Well, at least I tried.
