Naughty or Nice?

I'm going to let you in on a lil' secret about Lyd.
She has got some atti-TUDE. With a capital tude, y'all.
But Sarah, you say, that can't be true. She is always so jolly and smiley.

Oh sure, she can be charming...

And oh so sweet.

But, as Kyle and I often say, "She wants what she wants when she wants it."
And one thing this chick does not want is naps.
How does such a little thing go non stop from 5 AM til bedtime?
This habit had to be stopped. So for the last week, we've been letting her cry it out.
The first 2 days, I also cried.
Ripped my heart out.

But, I've been trying to stick to this approximate schedule:
Morning Nap: 8:30-9:30 AM
Afternoon Nap: 1:30-3:30 PM
Bedtime Time: Anywhere from 6 PM to 7 PM

But, don't let this minuscule assertion of my power fool you. Lydie still believes that she runs the house.
As a general rule of thumb, I don't let her watch TV. I'm not a total stickler on this, but the box of mindless entertainment typically doesn't come on until Kyle decides to watch it. Of course, I encourage him to set Lydia up with toys/books. But sometimes I catch them doing this behind my back:

Just look at those two.
Snacking on my rice cakes and watching football.
Not even aware I was taking this picture.
Definitely naughty.

What? Lydie eats rice cakes too? Yeah, so we basically just give her whatever we're eating.
Without mashing it up...
Gasp! Don't tell the doctor.

She has about 4-5 oz of milk every 3ish hours and then we let her have what we're eating for dinner. She doesn't like baby food, but she's a mighty big fan of big girl food.
Within the last 2 weeks she's had baby sized pieces of:
peas, green beans, baked asparagus, rice cakes, Thai noodles, blueberry smoothie, apples, bananas, whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce, zucchini, carrots, & steamed tomatoes.

Her favorites by far are the green vegetables.
She'll gum 'em to death.

But apparently raw tomatoes are repulsive.

If I want to eat in peace without little hands grappling at my mouth, I have to immobilize her on the other side of the room.

Naughty Food Snatcher

She wanted a piece of this action:
Chunky Pecan Bars Tawny and I made.
But to Lyd's dismay, I whisked them away to chick flick night.

The 4 of us neighborhood pals stayed up til midnight watching "A Walk to Remember" and giggling like school girls. Future sleepover plans may be surfacing. We'll see if the husbands can handle it.

But, we're not the only ones who like to get together. Baby Landon personally came over to ask Lydia on a date to the drive in. Of course, the rest of us had to come along to chaperone.
And it's a good thing we did too!

Lydia Gwenevere! What are you doing in the back seat alone with Landon?!
Just look at the shock on her face.
And the remorse on his.
You've got to keep a close eye on these 2 rascals.

That's the only boy you should be in the back seat with!

We had a fun time watching the new Twilight movie.

BBQing the hot dogs

Miss Model

Friends

After getting caught, Lydie spent most of the movie sleeping on the floor of the front seat while Kyle and I cuddled on the mattress he set up in the back.

That little missy better watch it.
Or she might end up on the naughty list this Christmas.

Eh, who am I kidding?
Santa would have to be a cold hearted fellow to put coal in this cutie's stocking.

As always, I love all the pictures. Especially the one of her caught in the car with Landon, haha! She is certainly on the nice list this year. Do you mind if i 'steal' your pecan bar picture? Cuz we know it's better than the one I have :)
