For God overhead
A comfy bed
My family, in all its forms
And help in weathering life's storms
For a world to roam
A cozy home
My dear friends
And adventures around the bend
For holiday fun
A body to run
My experiences in youth
And knowledge of the truth
For books to read
A moral creed
My supportive hubs
And Lydie chubs
We had a fantastic Thanksgiving this year!
Kyle had a half day at school on Wednesday, so he decided it would be fun to take Lydie along with him. He didn't have to ask me twice...a morning to myself? Yeeeah buddy.
Nothing hotter than a guy in a leather jacket sporting a flowered diaper bag.
Am I right, or am I right?
I packed that baggy full of blueberries for Lydia's lunch...

But, as any true girl on her first day of school, she was more concerned about her shoes.
I got to meet up with them for the school's Thanksgiving lunch at noon. Lydia was quite the happy camper. Among the highlights of her day were the rides the librarians gave her on the book cart.
After her much needed afternoon nap, we drove up to my parent's house in Sacramento.
Come to think of it...was that nap the last time she slept that week?
Stiiiiinker.
Thanksgiving began as it always should: with me and the boys driving around town trying to get in on a Turkey Bowl.
We settled for frisbee and basketball.
Baby's First Thanksgiving!
My mom and Julia planned a fabulous dinner, and we all pitched in to help.
Although, at one point, it was the 3 girls in the kitchen and the 3 guys parked in front of a football game. Kyle let it slip later on that my dad had whispered, "This is how it should be!"
He got a talkin' to. And Kyle's in the dog house for breaking man code.
You boys better watch it.
Mmmmmm.
Sparkling cider, turkey, cranberry sauce, 2 kinds of mashed potatoes, gravy, bell pepper salad, homemade ranch, rolls, candied yams, sweet potatoes, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, stuffing, homemade cheesecakes, pumpkin pie, and berry pie.
You better believe I was outside trying to run those calories off.
We stayed through til Sunday and had a great time planning sports outings, walks around the neighborhood, and game nights.
The Happy Farmer
Last year, this tree held 30 normal sized oranges.
This year, it holds just 4 grotesquely large pieces of fruit. My dad doesn't know what happened.
An airplane flew by with radioactive isotopes?
Lydie making herself at home in Grandma's tub.
It was a fun time. Now if only we could teach Lydia how to sleep somewhere else besides her own bedroom...
You are getting verrrry sleepy. Verrrrrrrry sleepy!
