The Halloween festivities began on Friday.
Tawny and I got together to decorate these:
Vampires, Mummies, & Pumpkins
And wound up taking these:
Lydia and her boyfriend Landon
(She's into younger men)
Can you believe these 2?
We didn't even pose them like that!
Okay, I lied. Of course, we did.
But we didn't tell them to be this stinkin' cute.
We had a Halloween birthday party to go to later that night. But Lyd was so hyped up on puppy love, that she didn't take her afternoon nap and ended up passing out at 6 PM.
So come Saturday afternoon, we explained to the little squish that second naps are important.
Why?
Because, hot dogs cannot live by mustard alone.
They need their ketchup too.
That's better.
We snagged these beauties with the $80 I won to an online Halloween store.
We had a great time at the Alexander's neighborhood par-tay.
Daddy Dog
(He's a cannibal)
Mama Mustard
After a little pumpkin bowling, it was off to the ward trunk or treat.
We had fun watching all of the little kids smile at us and gettin' jiggy on the dance floor.
Lydia was mesmerized by all of the costumes.
We were excited to have my mom come into town Sunday night.
She said she couldn't miss Lydia's first Halloween.
And how can you blame her? Not every kid gets to be a condiment.
On Monday, my mom took Lydia and I to meet Kyle at his school. I was roped into signing up for the Halloween skits last week. My role was to purchase a hot dog from a meat vendor.
I was forced to say lines such as "nice buns" and "I'll have this hot dog to go."
The things I do for my husband...
Ky, you better recognize.
Of course, the crowd pleaser was when I licked Kyle's cheek after the mustard was applied and said, "It's better. But it's still missing something. Do you have a 'little ketchup?'"
Little Ketchup
Lydie really loved the bag she got for participating.
Kyle and his buddy Taylor after our skit.
On Halloween night, Kyle, my mom, and I played a board game as the flocks of trick or treaters came to our door. Kyle got lots of giggles, a request to be eaten, and one picture inquiry for opening up the door dressed in his hot dog costume. We ended the evening by watching a documentary.
Hmmmm. We are PARTY. ANIMALS.
And as all hardcore party weekends do, this one ended with lots of vomiting.
I'm talkin' 3 A.M, mom holding my hair back, husband grabbing me meds, sick to my stomach all night long, vomiting.
Perhaps it was the documentary that really took me over the edge.

Cutest family costumes! Your skit sounds so funny :) As always, your baby is adorable. I love the pic of you and Lydie up close. You're both so pretty. But sick?! Man, what a rotten way to end the weekend! Sounds like a blast though!
